Another busy and successful Austech week saw thousands of visitors travelling from all over the world to attend the four day event at Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. We showcased a range of machinery along with innovative solutions to help streamline and automate business processes.

With Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things shaping the manufacturing industry today, the theme for this year’s stand was Get Connected.

SOCO is the largest worldwide machinery manufacturer for the tube, pipe and solid bar industry. We exhibited the Tube Bender with Automation, which attracted huge crowds. The exciting new technology from SOCO combines roll bending and dual directional bending technology – a solution for bending more complex shapes. The machine is coupled with a user friendly touch screen control and simulation software.

Product Fabrication Manager Greg Bosward says “the SOCO demonstrated the latest in technology with the automated material handling loading with tube seam detection system. Equipped with a robot loader and unloader, visitors and potential customers at Austech could gain a true understanding how of automated advanced manufacturing technology can assist them in the future.”

Our Hänel Rotomat Carousel demonstrated how easy it is to save floor space using a vertical storage system. Combined with Klugo’s cloud-based software, visitors were introduced to how businesses can increase efficiency through automation. Check out the Headland Storage website.

Matt Weaver was joined by OMAX’s Patrick Turpin, and once again the Maxiem 1530 abrasive waterjet proved to be a hit, with live demonstrations displaying the speed, precision and accuracy of the waterjet.

We exhibited three TRUMPF machines on this year’s stand; TruBend 7036, 5030 Fiber and the TruPrint 1000. We were also joined by TRUMPF’s Industry and Application Manager Lars Neumann, a specialist in Additive Manufacturing.

Richard Hayes, Sales Manager, explains “TRUMPF is distinguished by its technical innovation; they are regarded as the best in the industry. Their machinery is always popular because they are experts in sheet metal processing, so it was an excellent opportunity for us to showcase three TRUMPF machines along with Lars Neumann joining us for the week.”

Also on the stand was the Nakamura-Tome AS-200LMYS Lathe with twin spindles. Sporting three new safety features to the controller including NT work navigator, NT airbag and NT Nurse 2, the machine is hand-built for unequalled quality, accuracy and reliability.

We also hosted a series of Industry 4.0 luncheons during Austech week – if you missed out and are interested in attending a future event, please register your interest by contacting
