Adept, leading the way in Plastic Processing

Murray Fenton founded Adept in 1969. Today Adept is leading the way in Plastic Processing, offering a complete product development and manufacturing service to the local New Zealand market and internationally.

For over 49 years, Adept has specialised in offering the total solution. From research, production, tooling and manufacture.

Investing in Technology

Adept have recently installed another high precision machine from Makino. The Makino D300 is compact and offers an automated solution, designed specifically for small, complex, 3-D contouring of high-quality part production as typically seen in Aerospace machining, Medical part manufacturing and high-end job shop, die and mould applications.

“With the D300, zero clamping systems, the latest tooling technology and a powerful cam system in CAM Tool we have a total part manufacturing solution.

“This manufacturing cell helps us further improve our turnaround time, from concept design to first runs, thus again helping our customers with shorter to market times.” Jason Yalden, Toolroom Manager.

The Makino D300 Highlights

The Makino D300 is configured with the 12-station compact pallet changer it’s a workhorse designed for automated production of high precision, small batch part production up to 168 hours a week (24/7).

Core-cooled ball screws and a temperature controlled direct drive motors and spindle all combine to deliver thermal stability.

The direct drive rotary axes, provide the speed and accuracy to be productive in a wide variety of workpieces and materials.
